Vancouver’s top tweeters make headlines

Are you on Twitter?? We are, and so are a lot of fellow Vancouverites.
Last week, 6S Marketing director and co-founder Chris Breikss compiled his list of Vancouver’s top 20 Twitterers. The Vancouver Sun’s Gillian Shaw published Breikss’s list on her blog ‘Digital Life’ and added a short bio for each of the popular tweeps. Check it out.
If you’re not already familiar with it, Twitter is a service which allows people to stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing? But it’s way more than that.
The people you follow on Twitter can provide oodles of essential information. Unlike on some other social media networking sites, you are able to follow almost anyone on Twitter. You can follow people whose opinions you value, whether they be industry experts, political types or plain old funny people who make you laugh.? With that Twitter can also be very amusing and pretty addictive!
Say you’re someone who is interested in music, for example. You can search to see which of your favourite artists are using twitter, or to learn which users are dialed into the music that you like. You can then follow those people for updates, and converse with them directly–and thus a network of like tweeple is built.
The tweeps listed on Chris Breikss’s list have loads of followers and therefore are using twitter correctly, i.e. informing or entertaining. The list is in no particular order, and is made up of Chris favorites. It’s great to see some familiar names on the list, and mad props to everyone who made the list!? (Way to go, Jenn!)
