It was the little camera that got the footage of a road trip, birthday, baseball game, cat fight….60 minutes of footage, 2 double A’s and I am set to press record. The FlipCam came out with a small product, and a whole lot of heart. Offering to partner up with NPO’s garnered them great exposure and generated not only sales but a positive ripple effect within new business models. And its genius.
Partnering with non-profits is not solely feel good news. I believe that this is a model that businesses should spend some energy in setting up and actively participating in. The ways in which tax credits are set up and the allocations for ad spend and creative campaigning, this is a successful route which will only provide positive ROI. Partnerships will drive you forward by becoming not only more favorable in the eyes of your consumer and public, but it also acts to engage in the beginning of a new conversation with the public by showing a little bit of the sleeve. Exposure gained, profits increased through awareness campaigns surrounding the partnership, and dual promotions to generate feedback and participation sounds like the way new business is meant to be run. Throw in some social media and we’ve got a 2.0 corporate business strategy party.
