Stop Looking at Me: Tales Of Lost Twitter Friends

I am lucky to be in a community of amazing people in the nouveau geek world who I’ve been able to spend some real face to face time with geeking out. You know. Where geeking out has become the new tearing it up the club. These are the new SM pals. Recently when twitter, a FREE app, started glitching leaving people without their adornments (read: followers) people started to act as if they lost their choir. And in some ways, they had.
So some pals have gone AWOL. But the tech wizards are on it I can guarantee so I’ll bet that at the end of the day, we’ll be up and running with a bunch of followers we’ve never met. I’d rather worry about the friends I have that I haven’t seen in a few months, people that I’ve been meaning to take out for dinner that I put off to watch some reality TV slop. It does seem easier to defer these things to the fail whale and stop worrying about things that we actually have some control over but really…at the end of the day twitter was trying to do us a favor. They were telling the telemarketer to stop calling during dinner. They were playing house keeper. They were paying attention to our pals and helping us get to the good friends.
I think we should consider taking one of their cues, and start cleaning our own house. Go call your old pal and go out for dinner.
