MusicIP is an amazing new technology developed to predict and match sound styles. MusicIP itself is a Flash-based tool (The Playground) that will find matches and recommendations based on a number of factors, drawing from a database of over 17,000,000 songs. The intuitive interface allows you to simply enter an artist, track, album, or combination of two or three, and it will pull up a web of similar music.
The technology involved is very complex and was 6 years in development. The Playground uses the MusicIP algorithms to find similar sounding tracks. You can use this same technology to build playlists from your own collection using the MusicIP desktop applications.
The results can be shared, refined and linked, and every result contains links to MSN, Yahoo and Google Music. Cover art is supplied, and ListenerLink allows independent artists to upload their own tracks to expand the MusicIP database and gain exposure for their musical projects.
