Meet the 2008 Blogathon Participants
Posted by Jenn Lowther
Before we get too far into the posts for the blogathon, I would like to take this chance to congratulate all of the other bloggers who are taking time and sleep from their schedule to raise money for their charities of choice. So in no particular order, the bloggers – please take the time to visit their sites and lend your support to their efforts.
Rebecca Bollwitt (Miss 604)
Rebecca is Vancouver’s leading hyper local blogger. If you need to know what’s going on in Vancouver, her blog is a must read. She also covers technology and social media. She and her husband John have recently launched sixty4media.
Rebecca was the organizing force behind setting up this years blogathon and we wouldn’t be here without of all of her hard efforts. For the blogathon, Rebecca is supporting the Union Gospel Mission (UGM). The Union Gospel Mission is a non-profit urban relief organization serving the Lower Mainland, providing hope for the hungry, hurting and homeless since 1940.
Chris Richardson – Tagga Media
Tagga Media is a new Vancouver Start Up. Tagga allows anyone to create free text message campaigns instantly so that you can interact, sell to, or simply communicate with mobile users
For the Blogathon, Tagga has chosen to support the Lochmaddy Foundation, the same charity that we are supporting for the blogathon. Through the Lochmaddy Foundation, all donations will be directed to a community in Mali, West Africa. Families in N’Gouraba are working hard to improve their lives and the lives of their children through a special agricultural project. Your donation will empower and enable them to realize increased crops, more family income with new opportunities and a brighter future.
