A family reunion will take place tonight as HootSuite joins Invoke in NYC to celebrate The Second Annual Shorty Awards. We were honored to have HootSuite acknowledged as the “Best App” at last year’s award ceremony, and we’re thrilled HootSuite is back as a finalist in 2010. The Shorty Awards are intended to honour the best people and organizations on Twitter, and with 26 official award categories, in addition to brand-new crowd-sourced ones, all awards are for the Twitter community, as voted by the Twitter community.

Short doesn’t mean small: The Second Annual Shorty Awards are bigger and better than ever. This month the Twittersphere is invited to nominate its favorite Twitterers across dozens of official and crowd-sourced categories.
