Summers in LA always offer great experiences – especially if you can see your favorite movie star immortalized in wax, nosh on a sushi taco, and surf the deep blue sea all in the same day. With this being Invoke Co-CEO Dario Meli’s first full summer season in LA (he’s pioneering the Invoke office there!), we thought we’d help him discover the city of angels in all its bright-light, fashion-forward, and nature-filled splendor – with just a click of a button. Here are a few of our favourite city-centric iPhone apps. (We thought you might enjoy them too…)

1) NFT Los Angeles City Guide
NFT stands for “Not For Tourists” so that visitors and locals can explore, eat, and shop at the best venues in Los Angeles as recommended by city experts. NFT has the whole city described and intelligently mapped out in full detail so that you can easily get caffeinated on your favorite cup of fair-trade coffee, master LA’s maze of freeways, and learn which neighborhoods have the hautest clothing boutiques.

2) Los Angeles Times
The Los Angeles Times re-branded itself as The LA Times and completely revamped its iPhone app. You can now personalize the app to get the exact items you want, whether it be sports, business, local news, or entertainment. You can also set up push notifications to have the news sent directly to your device, as well as to your Twitter and Facebook  accounts.

3) Short Trips Around Los Angeles
Thanks to nicknames like LaLaLand and Tinseltown, it can be hard to think of LA as offering anything other than celebrities sightings and B-List movie premiers. Set your sights on adventures just outside of the city with the Short Trips Around Los Angeles app. Hit the road for a day — or weekend — trip designed to help you explore the region’s best forests, beaches, mountains, and quaint character towns.
