Have you ever dreamed of visiting the Facebook campus and meeting some of the greatest minds on the team? Vancouver developers, this may just be your chance to turn those day dreams into reality. Invoke is pleased to sponsor the Vancouver contingent of Facebook World HACK 2012 and we need you to represent!
As the announcement on the Facebook Developer blog states: “The World HACK series is designed to bring the Facebook Developer story to a new set of cities – homes to some of the world’s most vibrant and fast-growing developer communities.” We’re so honoured that Vancouver has been recognized as one of only 12 cities across the globe with the chops to participate in this caliber of event.
This is a one day event open to coders of all kinds – whether you’ve developed with Facebook before or simply have a great idea for a social app that you’d love to see come to life.
The day will start with a series of technical sessions that will help show you the ropes to developing with Facebook. Topics covered will include Open Graph, iOS, Android, mobile web and how to build successful social games.
From there, you’ll be treated to some demos and samples to get you pumped for the challenge and then of course, and most importantly, there’s the challenge itself: eight hours of coding bliss with hands-on help from Facebook engineers.
The day will finish with team demos and awards for the best apps and projects worked on throughout the day.
Aside from a fun-filled day of intensive Facebook coding, the best team from each continent will also win a trip to San Francisco to visit the Facebook campus and meet the team!
