To say that this conference was eye-opening is borderline insulting. It was a call to arms which I hope to echo here, both to the existing work force as well as those entering and climbing ranks. How can we compete in a growing and ever entangled global economy? It’s in our informed, creative, and innovative potential, a resource long left undervalued and undernourished. It’s up to us to create systems (education, political, and in the work-place) that encourage the exploration, discovery and harvesting of this potential.

Every so often, we like to give a shout out to social or interactive campaigns that we think are cool. One that we saw recently was Maynards candies’ Most Wanted campaign — which put known and loved Maynards candies like Swedish Berries, Fuzzy Peach and Gummi Bears on wanted posters for crimes like “disturbing the peach,” and “jaw-walking.”
